Amenities

  • Tennis

KSC will have five indoor tennis courts. Our facility will partner with local coaches for tennis lessons and skill improvement workshops. There are currently no available tennis courts for the general public and therefore no local competition for tennis court access.

The desire to have tennis courts available was ranked highest out of sports activities not currently available in KC in a recent KC Community Life survey (93% of respondents lived in KC).

  • Swimming

The indoor swimming pool would be competition size, containing ten lanes 50 m long with adjustable bulkhead that can convert pool to twenty 25 m lanes.

The current publicly available indoor pool in KC is at the Vincennes YMCA (vYMCA), which is not a competition sized pool, having only six lanes 25 m long.

The KSC pool would provide better practice space for LHS, SKHS and VST to practice regularly and host their own swim meets, approximately 90 HS students and 50 club swimmers would use our facility. Our pool would provide additional swim lanes for the adult community for lap swim than is currently available and free up the YMCA for their members to use more freely.

  • Rock Climbing Wall

Our wall stands at a towering [height] feet, with routes ranging from beginner to advanced. Our highly trained staff is on hand to provide guidance and assistance to climbers, and we offer a variety of classes and clinics for those looking to improve their skills.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time climber, our climbing wall is the perfect place to challenge yourself and have fun. So come on in and start your climb today!

Knox County is…

  • Ranked last in the state in health vitality

  • Maxing out the YMCA leaving room

  • Has over 500 active tennis players with nowhere the practice 1/3 of the year

  • Falling behind in competing with other communities in attracting sports-related tourism and events.

  • Sending families on long distances for indoor sports facilities.
